This weeks gin review features Craft Gin Club’s May delivery of Romeo’s Gin. A very unique brand and a gin-lovers must have within their collection!
ABOUT THE BRAND
Every edition of this gin is curated by a local urban artist, and a percentage of the sales goes towards the promotion of the urban art culture, in Montreal and beyond.
Believe it or not, the botanicals within this gin are just as beautiful as the bottles themselves! Stephane Rochfort from Romeo’s Gin explains;
“The whole DNA of Romeo’s was about capturing that first spring day in Montreal, surrounded by street art. It’s a crazy moment and we wanted to bottle that excitement.”
ABOUT THE GIN
Bottled at 46% ABV with botanicals including juniper (of course!), cucumber, dill, lavender, almond and lemon. The juniper plays an elegant accompaniment to the exuberantly fresh flavours of the cucumber, lemon and chilli. Almond smooths and rounds while the faintest hint of lavender evokes fields of flavours in bloom…just how we imagine the taste of Montreal would be on the first day of Spring!
ABOUT THE TONIC
This vibrant bouquet of Violet, Elderflower and Appleblossom with hints of natural quinine awakens the palette. A sophisticated drink on its own or great at adding a perfumed complexity to a craft dry gin without masking the uniquely crafted flavours.
Another brand that carefully mixes their artistic skills within their brand. The lady on the elegant lady on the bottle was sketched straight from the steps at the Cannes Film Festival. She has an effortless style and grace along with a playful twist. They named her ‘Madame Violet’.
THE PERFECT SERVE
Chloe’s trying it Craft Gin Style with a combination of Romeo’s Gin, Artisan Violet Blossom Tonic, garnished with pink peppercorns and lime. Giving her G&T a real burst of flavour and colour!
